This 13-song LP, released in November 2003 as a 12" vinyl and CD digipack, was the project's first official full-length album. The title, "As Simple as Love," is a mission statement for the warm and unpretentious pop inside. For the uninitiated, (The Blue House) is not a band in the traditional sense. It is the lifelong, obsessive musical project of Guille Milkyway (born Guillermo Milkyway Duco), a Spanish producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from Barcelona. Inspired by the deep, emotional pop of The Beach Boys, the sophisticated arrangements of Burt Bacharach, the electronic pulse of Giorgio Moroder, and the innocent energy of 1960s yé-yé girls, Milkyway has spent over two decades constructing a discography that is deceptively simple: walls of harmonized vocals, glittering synth arpeggios, and lyrics about unrequited love, nostalgia, and cosmic loneliness.
Before the official debut, Guille Milkyway distributed three handmade demo EPs, which are now highly sought-after collector's items.
