Which you have (e.g., original X-Plus, X-Plus II, or X-Plus 3)? What error message or screen behavior you are seeing? What firmware version you are trying to install?

Try re-flashing the firmware again.

Turn on your QIDI X-Plus. Navigate to the screen (usually the gear icon) > About Machine . Here you will see your current version (e.g., V1.2.3). Write this down. If you are already on V2.1.2, you likely do not need an update.

Access the system menu and navigate to > System Update . Select the update via USB option.

The QIDI X-Plus 3 operates on Klipper firmware. This requires updating both the system-level Klipper files and the mainboard micro-controller unit (MCU) firmware. Option A: Updating via Web Interface (Fluidd/MainSail)

Confirm if you have the original X-Plus (Chitu-based framework) or the X-Plus 3 (Klipper-based framework). Firmware files are not interchangeable.

The Qidi X-Plus is a versatile consumer 3D printer known for its enclosed build chamber, dual-extruder capability (on some models via upgrade), and ease of use. Like many hobbyist printers, it occasionally benefits from firmware updates to fix bugs, improve print quality, add features, or support new hardware. This essay explains the reasons for installing custom or official firmware on the Qidi X-Plus, outlines preparations and required materials, presents a clear step-by-step installation procedure (covering both official updates and common custom-firmware approaches), discusses post-installation checks and troubleshooting, and assesses risks and best practices. The goal is to give an informed, practical guide so an owner can decide whether to update firmware and, if so, perform the installation safely and effectively.

Connect the EMMC module to your PC using an EMMC-to-USB adapter. Open a flashing utility like or Rufus .
