Can we survive

We're in the Jaws of Extinction

Moscow, Berlin, Singapore, Washington DC, London. The radio’s are still working, but there is no one left to use them. The only confirmed safe haven is Eden-Nadir, an island off the coast of the United States of America and headquarters to Thanatos Pharmaceuticals.

Thanatos pioneered a miracle treatment, designed to be a universal cure for deadly diseases such as AIDS, Cancer. However, the best of intentions became the worst of consequences when it was released that the cure had a devastating side effect. The fungi used in the engineered cure (Ophiocordyceps unilateralis) began uncontrollably spreading through the bodies of its hosts. Upon reaching the brain, it would feed and destroy the parts responsible for cognition. Only by keeping part of the host’s brain alive, the malignant fungal infection would control it’s host with the singular interest of proliferating its noxious spores.

Arturia's Modular V is a virtual synthesizer that faithfully emulates the sounds and features of this classic hardware. Developed in partnership with Bob Moog himself, it was Arturia's first software synthesizer and marked a significant milestone in the field of virtual analog technology. The software is not just a sample library; it is a component-by-component recreation of the original modular system, allowing users to patch modules together in a virtual environment just as they would with physical cables.

The Moog Modular, designed by Robert Moog in the 1960s, was a revolutionary instrument that allowed musicians to create complex, dynamic sounds using a series of interconnected modules. The Moog Modular's architecture, comprising multiple voltage-controlled oscillators, filters, and amplifiers, enabled an unprecedented level of expressiveness and sonic manipulation. The instrument's influence on the development of electronic music cannot be overstated, with artists like Keith Emerson, Tangerine Dream, and Kraftwerk all leveraging the Moog Modular to create groundbreaking works.

: Optimized code drastically reduced CPU overhead, enabling multiple instances to run concurrently in a modern session.

However, owning and maintaining an original hardware Moog Modular today is a luxury reserved for a select few. The units are rare, incredibly expensive, and prone to tuning instability. This is where Arturia’s software emulation bridges the gap, allowing musicians to experience the power of a vintage modular rig directly inside their computer.
