Features

Main Features of Waydroid

Waydroid uses Linux namespaces (user, pid, uts, net, mount, ipc) to run a full Android system in a container and provide Android applications on any GNU/Linux-based platform (arm, arm64, x86, x86_64). The Android system inside the container has direct access to needed hardware through LXC and the binder interface.

Free and Open-Source

The Project is completely free and open-source, currently our repo is hosted on Github.

Full app integration

Waydroid integrated with Linux adding the Android apps to your linux applications folder.

Multi-window mode

Waydroid expands on Android freeform window definition, adding a number of features.

Full UI Mode

For gaming and full screen entertainment, Waydroid can also be run to show the full Android UI.

Near native performance

Get the best performance possible using wayland and AOSP mesa, taking things to the next level

Active community

About Us

Get your favourite Android Apps on Linux.

Waydroid brings all the apps you love, right to your desktop, working side by side your Linux applications.
The Android inside the container has direct access to needed hardwares.
The Android runtime environment ships with a minimal customized Android system image based on LineageOS. The used image is currently based on Android 13

Instructions

Quick install reference

For systemd distributions

Waydroid supports most common architectures (ARM, ARM64, x86 & x86_64 CPUs)

Waydroid uses Android's mesa integration for passthrough, and that enables support to most ARM/ARM64 SOCs on the mobile side, and Intel/AMD GPUs for the PC side. For Nvidia GPUs (except tegra) and VMs, we recommend using software-rendering

Follow the install instructions for your linux distribution. You can find a list in our docs.

After installing you should start the waydroid-container service, if it was not started automatically:

sudo systemctl enable --now waydroid-container

Then launch Waydroid from the applications menu and follow the first-launch wizard.

Max 2015 To 2018 Win Top _best_ — Psoft Pencil 4 For 3ds

While alternative methods exist—such as using ink-and-paint shaders inherent to 3ds Max or utilizing compositing tricks in post-production—PSOFT Pencil 4 remains a top-tier tool for several reasons:

The new engine is exponentially faster than Pencil+ 3, often reported as up to 68 times faster, making it capable of handling massive scenes with thousands of objects.

Pencil+ 4 can reproduce the flat look of cel shading and the texture of pencil sketches. It moves beyond simple toon shading by supporting unique effects like . This allows materials hidden behind objects to penetrate through and be rendered as if they were in front—a critical feature for complex character rigging and clothing layers.

Pencil 4 is a rendering plugin that allows 3D artists to turn standard 3D scenes into stylized images that look like hand-drawn sketches, manga, or cartoons. Key features typically included:

| Feature | PSOFT Pencil+ 4 | VRayToon | finalToon | Corona 13 Toon Shading | | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- | | | Dedicated, industry-standard NPR renderer for cel and pencil styles. | A simple atmospheric effect to add cartoon outlines. | A full-blown "True Line Renderer" (TLR). | A toon shading and outline override for the Corona renderer. | | Line Quality | Excellent - Offers rich, highly stylizable lines (sketchy, uniform, inked, etc.). | Basic - Provides uniform, simple outlines. | Very High - Focuses on crisp, fast outlines for technical/illustration styles. | Good - A solid addition for Corona users, but not as feature-rich as dedicated tools. | | Material Control | Extensive - Full material system for cel shading, highlights, and hatching. | None - Does not affect materials, only adds outlines. | Limited - Mainly a line renderer, but works alongside standard shaders. | Good - Basic toon ramp, color quantization, and outline overrides. | | Performance | Excellent (v4) - Multithreaded line rendering is incredibly fast. | Good - Very lightweight effect. | Good - Optimized for fast interactive updates. | Good - Leverages Corona's efficient rendering engine. | | Workflow Integration | Deep - Integrates as a dedicated material and renderer within 3ds Max. | Simple - Added as a simple effect in the Environment panel. | Deep - Adds custom materials, lights, and render elements. | Integrated - Seamlessly works within the Corona material system. | | Best For | Artists and studios needing authentic 2D anime, manga, or illustration styles. | Users wanting a quick and easy way to add outlines to any V-Ray scene. | Technical illustrators and architects who need perfect, crisp line art from 3D models. | Corona users who want to add stylized looks without switching renderers. | psoft pencil 4 for 3ds max 2015 to 2018 win top

In the realm of 3D modeling and animation, Autodesk's 3ds Max has long been a stalwart, empowering artists and designers to bring their most ambitious visions to life. For professionals and hobbyists alike, the software's versatility and extensive feature set make it an indispensable tool. However, to truly harness its potential, especially in tasks requiring precision and a nuanced touch, specialized plugins can make all the difference. One such plugin that has garnered significant attention within the 3ds Max community is the Psoft Pencil 4, specifically designed for 3ds Max versions 2015 through 2018 on Windows.

Navigate to the Environment and Effects window in 3ds Max, and add "Pencil 4 Line" to the effects stack.

Background and purpose pSoft (often associated with or similar in function to other NPR tools) developed Pencil to address a common need in animation, architectural visualization, concept art, and technical illustration: producing controllable outline and stroke rendering directly from 3D geometry. While 3D renderers excel at photorealism, many projects require stylized visuals—comic book looks, technical diagrams, storybook illustration, or sketch-like turntables—that are cumbersome to create purely by hand. Pencil bridges that gap by letting users define stroke styles, vary line thickness, produce hatchings, and control visibility based on topology, smoothing groups, material IDs, or camera-facing angles. | A simple atmospheric effect to add cartoon outlines

is the industry-standard non-photorealistic rendering (NPR) plugin designed to produce beautiful, hand-drawn anime, manga, and sketch aesthetics directly inside Autodesk 3ds Max .

The rendering engine delivers fast cell-shading results. It processes complex geometric lines quickly. It optimizes CPU usage on older hardware. Advanced Line Detection

is a cornerstone tool for any artist focused on high-end, non-photorealistic, or cel-shaded animation. Its ability to produce high-quality, detailed lines and materials, combined with significantly faster rendering speeds and real-time viewport feedback, makes it a top investment.
