During installation, a prompt will ask for permission to install device drivers (including the MTP and USB serial drivers). Click or Always Trust Software from NovaStar . Restart your computer after installation completes. Method 2: Manual Update via Device Manager If the driver fails to install automatically:
NovaStar controllers do not use MTP. They require specific serial-to-USB or custom USB drivers (often built on FTDI chips or proprietary NovaStar software architectures) to establish a communication bridge. Step 1: Force-Install Drivers via NovaLCT Directory
Plug the USB cable into a (usually black) directly on the motherboard (back of a desktop PC). Avoid external USB hubs. Turn on the sending box. Step 2: Reinstall the USB Serial Service
Scroll down and select or Universal Serial Bus devices .
NovaLCT software often scans only COM ports 1 through 8. If your driver installs on COM17, the software won't find it.
Right-click the problematic device and select . Choose Browse my computer for drivers .
Sometimes the driver is working, but the background communication services have crashed. Open Windows (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
