You play as Cronie (or Kurone), a highly proficient, silent assassin belonging to a notorious Assassin's Guild.

As an assassin, Cronie is paid in one currency: coin. But faced with this destitute girl, she offers a different deal. As Cronie asks, "Without money, what equivalent can you give?" the girl offers the only thing of value she has left—her most precious treasure, a cherished teddy bear. This act of ultimate sacrifice for the chance to see justice done is the game's central premise.
